Veronika Kurz is an award-winning director, writer, and producer based in Vancouver, BC. She is a current participant of the Netflix-Banff Diversity of Voices Initiative.
In 2017, Veronika successfully pitched to and won funding from the MPPIA Short Film Award for her comedy short film, 20 MINUTES TO LIFE, at that year’s Whistler Film Festival.
The film went on to win 1st Place Comedy Short Shorts at Just For Laughs NorthWest and play on Super Channel as part of the 2020 Canadian Film Festival.
In addition to comedy, Veronika also wrote and directed a dance film, FLOW, starring former Ballet BC dancer Livona Ellis. The film premiered at the 2019 Sedona International Film Festival to two sold-out audiences and went on to play at several other international festivals.
Veronika is an alumni of both Capilano University’s Motion Picture Arts program and the Women in the Director’s Chair program.
Currently Veronika is adapting the 20 MINUTES TO LIFE short into a limited series and developing her first feature.
